You may know me better as eventhorizon.cosplay. My interest in photography goes back 30 years. I started photographing cosplay 4 years ago, and since then my interest has grown to the extent that it is now the genre where I spend the most time.
I regularly attend comic cons and organised photographer/cosplayer events. I also arrange out-of-con shoots.
Here are some photographs that represent the work that I do.
Why start my own site? We have grown so accustomed to the rules of social media that it’s only when you break away that you realise how much they control what we do now. I feel that I have outgrown it and want my own outlet, where I can set my own rules. I don’t have to worry about algorithms deciding who sees what I post, or what I am allowed to post. No shadow bans because someone had a fake cigarette or weapon prop, no fear of waking up one morning to find that my account has gone and the only hope of retrieving it is negotiating with AI bots. I can post as little or as much as I want to and nobody can penalise me.
Social media has also virtually killed off landscape orientation photos, and made us all accustomed to taking detailed, high resolution images then scaling them down to the size of a postage stamp to share them.
